Newsletter October 2016

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO FUNDING

The state government has recently released a change in the way we will be funded. As of next year, all children eligible for school the following year will need to enrol for 3 days a week otherwise we will not receive enough funding to remain viable.

As a result, next year we will have a compulsory 3 day enrolment for a flat fee of $55 for three days (full fee) or $28 for 3 days (subsidy). If we have spare places we may be able to offer a fourth day to those interested, but it will depend on how many spots we have available.

For 3 year olds, who aren’t eligible for school in 2018, the fee will be $35/day (full fee) and $10/day (subsidy).

We will also be abolishing our current bond of up to $120, for a one-off enrolment fee of $50 regardless of how many days the child is enrolled, which will not be refundable.

If you have any questions about the new enrolment structure, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me either in person, on 69241726, or by email director@juneepreschool.com

CHANGES TO BECC’S DAYS

Due to family pressures, I have made the difficult decision to cut back my work days from 4 to 3. This means I will no longer teach on Tuesdays. Our beautiful Jane will now be the teacher in 100 Aker Wood on Tuesdays.

My new office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. While I will miss my day teaching terribly, it will be lovely for me to get to see our Friday families, who I missed out on seeing previously!

LITTLE GROOVERS ON THE GREEN

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Little Groovers on the Green festival such as roaring success! The children had a fabulous day and it was a great drawcard for visitors to Junee. We had some people come from as far away as Orange, Mossvale, and Victoria! The acts were amazing and there were some very happy, tired children headed home afterward.

It would not have been possible without the enormous efforts of the organising committee, support from our community and the donations of lollies, time and effort involved with running our bbq and stalls. Next year will be even bigger and better!
